About our Brandon concrete contractor company

Our story started at the kitchen table
Before I ever picked up a float, I sold concrete work for another company, sitting at kitchen tables explaining quotes. I learned the trade on crews after that, and I kept seeing bad concrete that started with a quote nobody bothered to explain. I opened Brandon Concrete Company here in 2023 so the person who explains your job is also the one who helps build it.
Most of our calls come from homeowners planning a driveway, patio, slab or foundation, plus some property owners with bigger flatwork, the flat pours like parking lots and long drives. Brandon gets plenty of rain spread through the year and about 40 nights a year below freezing, so I look at where your water goes and what your slab will sit on before we talk about finishes. If you want to know why we do a step, ask me. A customer who knows the reason can hold us to it, and I like it that way.

What working with us looks like on your job
These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the day the forms come off, because they're how I'd want my own driveway or patio handled.
You understand the job before we pour
I walk you through each option in plain words, including where the control joints go, the grooves we cut so cracks follow a line we picked instead of wandering across your slab. If something doesn't make sense, stop me, because you should know what you're paying for before you sign.
The person who quotes it checks it
I do the estimate visits myself, and our crew handles the prep, forming, pouring and finishing. I'm on site checking the work as it goes, so what we talked through at your house is what goes in the ground.
A written quote that shows what's in and out
Our quotes list what's included and what isn't, like tearing out an old slab or hauling off dirt, so the total you plan around is the total you see. If the ground turns up something nobody could see at the estimate, we talk it through with you first.
Ground and water come before finishes
We check the subgrade, the dirt your slab sits on, and which way water runs before we talk about color or a broom finish, the light texture that keeps a wet slab from getting slick. When a budget gets tight, I'd rather spend it on a dug-out, packed base you'll never see than on a fancy surface over dirt that settles.
Licensing and permits for concrete work in Brandon
Mississippi contractor licensing
Licensed and insured. Contractors in this state are licensed by the Mississippi State Board of Public Contractors, and when a licensed residential builder or remodeler is issued a local building permit, the job site has to carry a sign showing the license number and the state that issued it, so you can see who's working on your property.
Building permits in Brandon
The city's Community Development Department issues building permits, and its guidance calls for one whenever someone builds, alters, repairs or tears down a structure. We sort out with you whether your job needs one before work starts, and when it does, we handle it as your licensed contractor so it isn't left on you.
